Drew Lawson has over fifteen years of experience in Texas politics, with an extensive track record on political campaigns from the U.S. Senate to Congress to the Texas Legislature and judiciary. His expertise extends into the halls of the Texas Capitol, where his work in the Texas Senate and as a lobbyist has put him at the center of some of the most critical legislative accomplishments in the state.

In 2017, Drew launched Lawson Strategies and quickly established himself as one of the leading political consultants in Texas. He has received national recognition for his work, winning coveted Gold Pollie awards from the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) for the “Best Use of Opposition Research for a Republican Campaign” and “Best Data Analytics Solution.” In his first election cycle, Drew was named “Most Valuable Newcomer” by the non-partisan newsletter Capitol Inside for leading several high-profile campaigns to victory.

Lawson Strategies’ clients include influential Texas Senators, State Representatives, political action committees, and business leaders. They have relied on him to strategically deploy tens of millions of dollars in political expenditures in Texas elections.

Drew is also a respected lobbyist at the Texas Capitol. He was named the #2 Political Consultant Lobbyist in the Capitol Inside’s Texas Lobby Power Rankings and has helped numerous business groups advocate for principled, common-sense reforms that have been a critical building block of Texas’ thriving economic environment.

Prior to starting Lawson Strategies, Drew served as director of Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC), the most robust political organization in Texas politics. He managed the PAC’s multi-million-dollar election-cycle budget and consulted on many of the highest-profile campaigns in the Lone Star State. In addition to electoral victories, Drew’s leadership helped TLRPAC gain notable distinctions, including “Best Organizational Effort” in 2010 and 2014.

Born in Seattle, Drew grew up in Houston and received a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. He lives in Austin with his wife, Jenny, and their daughters, Audrey and Olivia.
